The LB Liquor Store has opened up today at 206 Hill Avenue in Weyburn, in the former location of the Coop Home Centre.
During a grand opening held on Thursday evening, Brandon Geerts, President of Retail Operations for LB Liquor Stores, confirmed the name does indeed come from the slang terminology used 'back in the day'.
"The LB Liquor Stores was formed after the Saskatchewan government decided to close all SLGA retail stores, so my childhood friends, Evan, who is here with us tonight, Jordan, and Evan's brother Hayden, we decided that now is the time for us to finally go into business with each other."
Geerts said, "Our philosophy is pretty simple. Provide a great customer experience through friendly staff, innovative product selection, while providing great value on the items you buy the most."
They opened their Estevan location on June 22nd.
"It was a huge milestone achievement for me and for our business. I said it was the greatest professional achievement of my life and I thought, how do I top that in Weyburn?"
He said this has also been the biggest professional challenge of his life as well.
"I cannot thank the team, who made this happen, enough for the efforts and commitments they have made. It takes a village to raise a family."
